On the eve of a full moon, tie the two ends of the 12" string together to make a circle out of it. Place the circle of string near a window so that it will be exposed to the moonlight. Lay the circle flat and in its center, place the stone you have chosen. Cover the stone with the piece of cloth.
Leave the stone covered until it’s time for the moon rise. When the moon rises, uncover the stone and say the following:
Spirits of the Earth, Moon and Sun, accept this stone as a semblance of my being. Watch over and protect this stone as I would ask you stand guard over me.
Leave the stone uncovered in the moonlight for the night. In the morning, at sunrise, cover the stone with the cloth again. In the evening, as the moon rises, uncover the stone once more and repeat the above chant again.
Next, place the crystal and circle of string in the middle of the cloth, then fold the ends together and tie it securely with string or cord. You can also add protective herbs, such as lavender, rose petals, rosemary, sage, cinnamon, dragon’s blood, or juniper. Wear or carry this sachet with you for personal protection.
